Dr Luis Perdigao

Research Software Engineer

Luis is a researcher specialised in the field of Scanning Probe Microscopy. He has an undergraduate degree in Physics, a PhD in Physics from University of Birmingham, and worked as a researcher in Lille (France), University of Nottingham and University of Warwick. His most notable works are in nanoscale imaging of self-assembled molecular networks, polymers, graphene, and surface photochemistry. He also has experience in image analysis, vacuum, research instrument design, computer interfacing and ion optics simulation.

One of his hobbies is to develop open source scientific software such as molecular visualisation tools. Scientific software development is now his full time job he hopes to continue making significant contributions to this field.
