Dr Michele Darrow
Michele received her PhD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX for her work using cryo electron tomography and cryo soft X-ray tomography to study the structural basis of protein misfolding disorders. After a post-doctoral position at Diamond Light Source, she joined SPT Labtech as a Development Scientist, where she has directed the internal and external research activities associated with chameleon – an automated, blot-free, pico-litre dispensing robot for cryo electron microscopy sample preparation. In 2021, Michele joined the Franklin as Head of Data Strategy for Cryo Electron Imaging.
Michele’s research interests focus on the combination of citizen science with machine learning strategies to allow accurate, robust, and efficient data processing for volumetric imaging data.
