Tom is the research software engineer for Cloud and HPC. He is an experienced coder in C, C++, Java, Fortran and Python. His background is in quantitative and theoretical X-ray fluorescence using Monte Carlo simulations: after completing his BSc, MSc and PhD in Chemistry at Ghent University. He then went on to complete post-docs at the University of Sassari (Sardinia, Italy) and BAM (German Federal Institute for Materials Research, Berlin). Immediately prior to joining the Franklin, he worked as a data analysis scientist at Diamond Light Source in 2015.
