Dr John Sidda

Postdoctoral Research Associate

John joined the Next Generation Chemistry theme to work on the signalling pathways underpinning primary sugar metabolism in plants.

John completed his PhD at Warwick University, studying natural product biosynthesis in bacteria and exploiting regulatory mechanisms to active normally silent pathways. He then moved to King’s College London to characterise bacterial-derived antimicrobial peptides. He returned to Warwick where he developed metabolomics methods for investigating plant-pathogen interactions, in particular to identify small molecule biomarkers for ash dieback disease tolerance and susceptibility.
