Dr Bela Paizs

Head of Molecular Structure Elucidation

Bela is the Head of Molecular Structure Elucidation in the Biological Mass Spectrometry theme. He studied chemistry and completed his PhD in quantum chemistry in Budapest, then moved to the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg where he was first post-doc and later ran his own group on computational proteomics as a Heisenberg fellow of the German Research Foundation (DFG). After staying at the University of Arizona for 1.5 years with his Heisenberg fellowship he joined Bangor University as Professor of Chemistry.

At the Franklin, Bela will be responsible for developing molecular ID strategies and corresponding software for projects where mass spectrometry is involved.
