Angus obtained his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Bristol in 2021 under the supervision of Professors Chris Willis and Matt Crump where he developed NMR-based assays to monitor the biosynthesis of natural products. He then moved to the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology in Belgium to undertake postdoctoral research on the identification and characterisation of natural products from host-associated bacteria.
