Dr Tom Glen

Plasma FIB Manager

Tom studied Physics at Southampton, then completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge studying organic solar cells. He then went to Hong Kong for a three year postdoc working on in situ electron microscope experiments in a new research group. Returning to the UK, he joined the University of Edinburgh and helped setup and run a new Cryo FIB/SEM facility, with a focus on soft matter and complex fluid physics.

At the Franklin, he will maintain and manage our cutting edge FIB tools whilst also contributing to new experimental techniques and developments in tomographic methods.
