Dr Sofia Piticari

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Sofia obtained her MSci degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry from Imperial College London and pursued her PhD studies at the same university in the group of Dr. James Bull, working on the development of catalytic C-H functionalisation reactions for the synthesis of fragments and building blocks for drug discovery.

As now part of the High-Throughput Discovery Facility here at the Franklin, Sofia is working on automating the synthesis of small molecules for phenotypic screening, with the bigger goal of enabling the efficient exploration of novel and relevant chemical space in a fully autonomous fashion as directed by phenotypic screening.
