In our specialised facility we culture a wide range of mammalian cells, insect cells, organotypics, and organoids. Our dedicated incubators provide an in vitro environment closely mimicking conditions of the mammalian or insect body. We have specialised microscopes for monitoring and imaging cell cultures and a FACS machine for cell sorting.
The technical team ensures the smooth running of the tissue culture laboratories. They oversee maintenance of equipment, cryogenic storage of cell lines, mycoplasma testing of cell cultures and training of students and staff.
The scientists in the tissue culture facility possess extensive expertise in a wide range of areas, including protein production, cell line generation, lentiviral vector work, pseudovirus systems and adeno-associated virus (AAV) applications, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture and differentiation, organotypics and generation of intestinal organoids, among others.
