About

Alessandro joined the Franklin after completing his integrated Master’s in Natural Sciences at the University of Bath, where he largely focused on physical chemistry. Alessandro’s MSci project involved developing and applying free-energy Monte Carlo approaches for molecular modelling of the behaviour of fluids and porous materials.

Alessandro also spent a year on industrial placement within the Structural Biology and Biophysics group at GSK, where he helped develop techniques for using mass photometry to study membrane proteins, alongside using mass photometry to support a number of drug discovery programmes.

He is now excited to explore the technologies at the Franklin and help apply them to complex biological challenges.
