PhD Student
About
Alicja holds an MSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on structural bioinformatics, particularly the integration of molecular modelling and computational methods to study protein structure. For her Master’s research project, Alicja developed a high-throughput pipeline for the automated generation of structure-based protein phylogenies to address the limitations of sequence-based phylogenetic methods.
Alongside her studies, she joined the BIOmodeling Lab at the University of Warsaw, where she developed a strong interest in molecular dynamics techniques. She presented her lab’s collaborative research on BK channel blockers at the international bioinformatics conference “BIT2025”.
Earlier, she completed a Data Science Internship at the Digital Research Centre, contributing to a biomaterials project that first sparked her appreciation for data-driven research. Today, her work brings together machine learning, computational drug design, and data science to explore new ways of understanding biological systems.
