About

Hannah is a Research Assistant working in Professor Ray Owens’ group. She forms part of the DiseaseX project and the Nanobodies Discovery Platform. Since joining the Franklin, Hannah’s research contributions have been across multiple projects within the nanobody discovery platform including a collaborative project with IntegerBio focusing on the discovery of novel nanobodies against SARS-CoV-2. She has also been working on the DiseaseX Project which aims to rapidly identify and test nanobodies, for the detection and treatment of future viral diseases.

Hannah earned her Master’s degree in Natural Sciences majoring in Biochemistry from the University of Southampton. Her two dissertation projects were in the fields of plasmid stability and structural biology for which she was awarded the “Best Master of Natural Sciences Project”.

Whilst Hannah has always had a keen interest in science, she also enjoys competitive running, wildlife photography and travel. She has spent time volunteering in South Africa and a year in Japan teaching English.
