Visiting Researcher
About

Kathryn is a visiting researcher from AstraZeneca working on the in-situ structural biology of the Sterile Alpha TIR motif containing protein 1 (SARM1), a protein involved in the degeneration of axons. She is based in Dr Michael Grange’s group and her project focuses on the use of cryo-electron tomography to visualise the native conformation and localisation of SARM1 and its interactions with other proteins in the cell.

Kathryn graduated with an MBiochem in Biochemistry and Molecular cell biology from the University of Oxford before completing a DPhil from the same institution on the structural biology of K2P potassium channels and the development of conformational specific nanobodies.
