Dr Philipp Hartmann

Postdoctoral Research Associate
About

Before studying chemistry, Philipp completed a vocational training as a biological laboratory assistant. Afterwards, he started studying at the University of Frankfurt to become a secondary school teacher. His subjects were chemistry and mathematics. After he discovered his passion for chemistry, he changed his subject to chemistry. He did his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the university of Frankfurt and worked on the modification of nucleosides and protein engineering, among other things. Next, he joined the group of Prof. Dr. Ritter at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung and did his PhD on the late-stage functionalization of biomacromolecules with thianthrenium chemistry.
