Dr Roman Fedoryshchak

Postdoctoral Research Associate
About

Roman is currently investigating molecular organisation at cell interfaces in the groups of Dr Karina Pombo Garcia and Dr Liang Wu. He aims to develop novel methods to visualise and characterise glycans and lipids in live cells.

Roman is a multidisciplinary scientist with interests spanning from organic chemistry to chemical biology and to cell biology. Previously, as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Francis Crick Institute (lab of Dr Richard Treisman), he developed genetically encoded FRET biosensors and cyclic peptide inhibitors to study cytoskeletal regulation and protein phosphorylation. Roman holds a PhD in Chemical Biology from Imperial College London (lab of Prof Ed Tate), where he developed photocrosslinking chemical probes to study protein myristoylation. He completed his MSc and BSc in Organic Chemistry at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, respectively.
