Dr Matous Kromer

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Matous comes from Czechia. He completed his BSc. and MSc. degrees in organic chemistry at Charles University in Prague, where he also obtained M.D. in general medicine. Matous then pursued a PhD at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry in Prague, where he studied enzymatic synthesis and applications nucleobase-modified of nucleic acids. After graduating, he moved to the laboratory of tumour suppressors, where he applied gene code expansion techniques for enzyme substrates discovery and revealing protein interacting partners.At the Rosalind Franklin Institute, Matous is investigating the potential of synthetic biomolecules for therapy and diagnosis under supervision of Prof. Ben Davis.
