Nikolai Juraschko

PhD student

Thesis Title: Combining MD simulations with ML approaches to facilitate the morphological classification of Chlamydia from cryo-ET data

Primary Theme: Artifical Intelligence and Informatics

Franklin supervisors: Dr Mark Basham, Dr Neville Yee Bor Yior, Dr James Parkhurst and Prof James Naismith

University: University of Oxford

University supervisor: Prof Syma Khalid

External supervisor: Dr Alan Lowe (The Alan Turing Institute)

As part of his PhD, Nikolai is trying to combine molecular dynamics simulations with machine learning approaches to automatically identify protein structures in the electron-density map of cryo-electron tomography in a crowded cell environment.
