Dr Irene Carlon-Andres

Postdoctoral Research Associate
About

Irene studied biology at the University Complutense of Madrid and graduated with a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Bordeaux, investigating virus-host interactions during early steps of viral infection. During their postdoc they specialised in quantitative light microscopy, studying HIV-1 maturation dynamics using fluorescence spectroscopy and correlative imaging. As a Research Associate in Advanced Cryo-Imaging at the Franklin, Irene uses their background in quantitative light microscopy to add a functional layer to correlative imaging methods so we can investigate the structure and dynamics of viral processes inside cells.
