Tom Fish
Tom is a Research Software Engineer for Imaging. He has a background in Astrophysics and received an MSc by Research for work writing software to analyse simulations of galaxy cluster mergers. Following this he worked on software automation for correlative imaging at Diamond Light Source, developing software to tackle problems from microscope control to data analysis. Tom works on software automation to solve issues related to sample preparation, data collection, and data analysis for FIB-SEM. His interests lie in cross-disciplinary collaboration and enabling research through workflow optimisation.
Digital Twin Cell
Creating a digital replica of a living cell enabling researchers to perform virtual experiments and gain valuable insights into cell biology.
Experimental Automation
We integrate in situ structural biology, computer vision and research software engineering to develop imaging feedback–driven workflows for advanced microscopy. Our goals are to make high-resolution structural methods faster, more robust and accessible.
